Ingredients
-
1 lb Shishito Peppers
-
A pinch Sea Salt
-
2 Tablespoons Oliver Oil
Directions
Sea salt sautéed Shishito peppers are my favorite tapa dish. When I was in Spain for my vacation, I ordered this dish almost at every meal. It called Padron Peppers in Spain.
It was first introduced to me by a friend Jerry, who suggested that we order them at a Tapa place in downtown east village area. That was probably 10 years ago, I even forgot the restaurant name, but this dish had grown in me, no matter what tapa places I go, I am always ordering this simple but delicious dish.
This weekend I went to Mitsuwa, a famous Japanese supermarket in NJ for food and grocery shopping, accidently I saw Shishito peppers! I only knew the peppers are selling at HMart and Eataly occasionally, now I found this in the Japanese market, I can’t help to pick it up. I have to make the appetizer for my loved ones, at this point of my life, of course they are my parents.
I made a whole plate of them and they are gone so quickly. At most time they are sweet and harmless, probably you can catch a spicy one, but it’s never happened to me.
